This list was begun in September 1996 and is still far from complete. Reed organ makers have probably been more numerous than piano manufacturers, many of whom also included reed organs in their production. The workshops and factories mentioned below can therefore be said to represent only a fraction of those that once existed. In brackets are given first the years of life, if known, and thereafter the period of work. If there is only one statement of time, it refers to the period of work. In both cases extensive research is still needed to verify the exact timespan for each workshop or factory.

Swedish alphabetisation has been used in this list, with the letters Å, Ä, Ö placed at the end after Z.
